Twan Janssen presents himself as an actor who plays the role of an artist. His artworks are mere props for his performance and his exhibitions are part of the script. In this way Janssen plans and creates his own future, which makes him probably the only artist who knows exactly what the course of his career will be. The confusion he creates makes one question the art world: if the artist is an actor, how should we value his art and the institutions he works with?
